Cooperation - Forum IADC (Ibero-American Forum on the Protection of Competition)
At its first meeting, a working group was formed by the Competition Authorities of Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Panama, to present a system for organising and coordinating the forum and a draft of its Statutes.
It was also agreed to set up an Ibero-American School for the Protection of Competition, with its head office in Madrid. Its purpose is to provide training in the protection of competition, aimed at personnel from the public administrations of the countries participating in the forum.
For this school, a plan was established to create a Council of Rectors, composed of the representatives of the Authorities for the Protection of Competition in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Spain, Peru and Portugal. It will have the responsibility of defining the subject matter and curricula of the courses to be offered.
Finally, this meeting also decided to create another working group, made up of the representatives of the Spanish, Portuguese, Panamanian and Brazilian Competition Authorities, to study and analyse projects involving cooperation and technical information exchange between the Competition Authorities that are part of the forum.
