“Competition and innovation in retail banking – a CMA perspective” discussed with Julie Bon, Director of Economics at the @Competition and Markets Authority at the AdC seminar.
In a study on retail banking, the CMA detected barriers to competition in several retail banking markets and subsequently imposed a package of remedies, including the Open Banking initiative, with measures aiming to ensure the development of common and open technological standards to guarantee the secure access to client data by FinTech companies and financial service providers.
