Seminar on merger control with Giulio Federico

The guest speaker for September's open seminar is Giulio Federico, Head of Unit for Mergers in the Chief Economist Team (CET) of DG Competition of the European Commission.
The seminar on “Efficiencies in Merger Control” will take place on 21 September, at 5 pm, in the Abel Mateus Competition Library (1st floor of the AdC premises at Avenida de Berna 19, Lisboa).

Giulio Federico holds a PhD from Nuffield College, Oxford University, and has a decade of experience in economic consultancy (including a Vice-Presidency at Charles River Associates). Giulio Federico is an external faculty member at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and was the President of the Association of Competition Economics in 2014 and 2015.
As part of his role at DG Competition, Giulio Federico oversees the work of the CET on merger control, including issues such as dynamic efficiencies (and inefficiencies) and innovation within the assessment of a merger proposal by a competition authority.
